Davis appointed the George R. and Genevieve B. Gist Endowed Chair in Ohio State University Extension

Dr. Greg Davis has been appointed the George R. and Genevieve B. Gist Endowed Chair in Ohio State University Extension effective July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2028. This appointment is subject to the approval of the Ohio State Board of Trustees. This Gist Chair is a rotating chair between the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) and the Department of Horticulture and Crop Sciences (HCS). While sitting with ACEL, the funding from this chair supports Extension Education with a focus on Administration and Leadership.

Dr. Davis earned degrees from University of Findlay and Bowling Green State University with his terminal degree, a Ph.D. in Extension Education, earned from The Ohio State University in 2004. Currently, Dr. Davis serves as Professor in the Department of Extension as well as interim Associate Chair of the Department of Extension. Previously Greg served as Assistant Dean OSU Extension and Associate Chair of the Department of Extension; Assistant Director, OSU Extension Community Development; Leader, Community Economics and Business, a collaboration between the Departments of Extension and Agriculture, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE); and District Community Development Specialist and County Agent-Educator for OSU Extension.
