Christy Appointed Associate Dean and Director for Academic Programs
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ann Christy as Associate Dean and Director for Academic Programs in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University (OSU) effective retroactively on January 1, 2023. As Associate Dean and Director for Academic Programs, Dr. Christy will provide leadership to the college portfolio of undergraduate student recruitment and development/support programs, curriculum management, and teaching and learning. She joins Associate Deans Pierzynski and Wilkins in providing leadership to our three mission areas of teaching, research, and Extension/outreach.
Dr. Christy has served as the Interim Associate Dean and Director for Academic Programs since July 1, 2022. Immediately prior to her interim appointment, Dr. Christy was a professor of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering and a professor of Engineering Education. Prior to becoming a faculty member, she worked for an environmental engineering firm in New Jersey for several years. Dr. Christy has won multiple teaching awards at the college, university, and national levels including the USDA National Award for Excellence in College and University Teaching in the Food and Agricultural Sciences. Her research is in bioenergy, the environment, and engineering education, generating over 145 publications so far.
Dr. Christy earned her B.S. in Agricultural Engineering and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from The Ohio State University and her Ph.D. in Environmental Systems Engineering from Clemson University.
