CFAES Faculty and Staff Appreciation 2023

Join us in celebrating Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week 2023!
CFAES Colleague Kudos
Diane Mashburn has such a positive spirit! When given any task, she hits the ground running. She is a great collaborator who is supportive, communicative, and reliable! Although she is relatively new to Ohio and our OSU Extension Program, she is a fantastic Extension asset. I am grateful to be working alongside her in LOD (Learning and Organizational Development Unit).
I appreciate Janice Dicarolis for how pro-active she is in taking care of people in our department and building. She makes sure events that recognize important human moments happen, keeps us connected to alumni and emeriti, thinks of ways to improve our space, made a sign to welcome me upon my arrival during a very quiet time of year. AEDE has a great admin team (Emma, Ana, Kassie, Shirley, Miles), but we all know that Janice is the soul of the department.
It does not matter where I go across this state, someone always asks me "Do you know Dr. Garcia?" quickly followed by, "She is awesome!" and I agree. Dr. Garcia is a wonderful partner to work with in engaging our alumni, friends and donors. She is incredibly dedicated to her students and her passion for the work she does is infectious. In a good way.
I appreciate Kelly Kane. Accepting a new fellow team member should not go unnoticed. It comes with interruptions, repetition, and reminders and less not disruptions. Your understanding and ability to share your challenges & experience encourages me and picks me up. Your fresh ideas and insight are positive reinforcement that is appreciated. It is with this in mind that I want to shout out THANK YOU for your guidance, expertise, and acceptance as I navigate and grow as a fellow team member of the OSU Extension SNAP-Ed team. Beginning a new career after 23 years has not come without its challenges yet the positive and professional qualities and reassurance that have been exhibited have made these hurdles much easier to work through. Teaching and presenting a lesson can be done by any trained individual BUT believing in and having a passion for the information can have a profound impact on those on the receiving end. I am so excited to be a part of OSU and the SNAP Ed team! Thank you!
I appreciate Darcy Becker. Accepting a new fellow team member should not go unnoticed. It comes with interruptions, repetition, and reminders and less not disruptions. We share an office so emphasis should be placed on "disruptions". This team believes and has passion for our community. I am so excited to be a part of OSU and the SNAP Ed team! Thank you!
I appreciate Francesca Rotondo for being a good friend at work and outside work.
As our custodian, Cindy Eshler does an amazing job of keeping Selby Hall clean as well as festive throughout the year! Thank you Cindy!

Alexus Masterson always goes above and beyond to help her colleagues succeed. I really appreciate all of the help she has given me with my program even though she is new to her Program Assistant position in Washington County. On top of her own programming she always finds time to help and serve others who need an extra hand. She is doing great things and I am excited to see what great things she will do for the University.

The Academic and Student Affairs TEAM on the Wooster campus are ROCKSTARS! They are committed to upholding and exemplifying the CFAES Principles of Community and are dedicated to the success of our students. I can't pinpoint just one person to give kudos to because it takes a TEAM to "grow" our Buckeyes!
I appreciate Deb Driscoll for keeping the office running smoothly in the midst of moving chaos! Deb is a great communicator and thoughtful organizer. To think of how much she has accomplished for the county office in just a few months on the job, you would be amazed!
I appreciate Ella Lorentz for having such an amazing attitude and making everything such fun! Camp was such a great experience with you and the things you do! I couldn't have asked for a better co-director and I can't wait to camp with you again! You're amazing and I appreciate you! Have a great fair week!
I appreciate Dr. Michael Cressman for always being there to help. Mike goes above and beyond to help colleagues whether helping in the meat lab, at department and college events, or any number of other things. Brett Baughman leads the Environment and Natural Resources Scholars program and has developed the program into one of the most impactful and intentionally-designed student programs I've seen in my 10 years at OSU. Students in the program regularly cite ENR Scholars as their most meaningful experience on campus and freely sing Brett's praises. Brett has created a robust developing ground for student leaders who go on to serve CFAES and the University well beyond their time in the program. He actively fosters growth in this group of students through constant opportunities for challenge while thoughtfully and compassionately supporting them along the way. He's a 2x CFAES grad furthering the mission of our college to the next generation of leaders.

Lilly takes initiative, when a printing project isn't completed, she notices and fixes it so no one goes without their certificate. She anticipates what is needed and she fills the gap. She makes the office look good and is a true team player.
I appreciate Erin Ruggiero. She helps with projects whenever I need help, many times without me asking. Today she helped with printing and finding supplies that I needed but thought I would have to purchase. She is much appreciated for her giving and kind attitude.
Renee Johnston is one of the hardest-working people I have ever met and CFAES is so lucky to have her. She has faithfully served the students, faculty, and staff of SENR through a wide spectrum of challenges and changes.
